International Board of Dry Needling

IDNB Press Release 15.8.23

The International Board of Dry Needling (IDNB) has strongly criticized the short Dry Needling Technique courses and workshops, labeling them as "disasters" that pose a threat to our profession. The IDNB firmly believes that these programs should be immediately addressed and halted.Dry Needling is a highly specialized technique that necessitates extensive training and expertise before it can be safely administered to patients. Failure to adhere to proper practice guidelines may result in severe complications. In light of a recent survey conducted by the IDNB, it has come to our attention that numerous short programs on dry needling are being conducted worldwide. Alarmingly, these program organizers are dubiously referring to the participants as Dry Needling Practitioners, allowing them to practice dry needling without any legal protection.

The IDNB vehemently opposes these programs, recognizing them as a genuine threat to our profession. Consequently, the IDNB urges practitioners worldwide to thoroughly verify the legitimacy and credibility of any program before enrolling.

It is imperative that we take a stand against these inadequate and potentially harmful short courses and workshops on dry needling. The IDNB is committed to safeguarding the integrity of our profession and ensuring the well-being of patients. We implore all practitioners to exercise caution and diligence when considering any program related to dry needling. Together, we can protect the standards and reputation of our field.
